Pain Control

Pain is a heightened awareness, a focusing of your mind. There is a line of thought that the pain is the outer effect of something happening at an inner unconscious level. However, because it is an aspect of your mind it is subject to change. The present medical model uses chemicals to extinguish the nerve signal and although there are new chemicals which can be very specific in controlling pain, generally speaking, it does not address the cause. What often happens is that the medicine reduces the inflammation or pain and the body heals on it's own. If this is a one time affair that might work but where you have repeated or constant pain you would be better served to find the root cause. If you do not, you create a dependent state where you must use the chemicals to keep putting out the fires so to speak. This is why many treatments dealing only with the physical body are often temporary and the condition or a similar one returns. You must address the inner needs as well as the physical to truly cure a condition.
You can use the mind to refocus the energy and you will have less pain plus speed your healing. The next time you have a pain stop, relax and turn your mind within. Looking with the Mind's Eye allow the pain to take on a nature as it will naturally. You may see an animal, a color, hear a tone or remember an experience. The nature of the first impression is not as important as your response. Once this pattern has formed decide how you would change it to better suit your desires. Then simply work the pattern into something you would like. If you see an animal and it is threatening see it transform into something joyful. If it is a color make it beautiful. If it is a tone or sound transform in into your kind of music. If it is a memory first feel the emotion coming from it and allow it to flow then re-write the experience so your part is in agreement with your ideal self or how you should have behaved. Once you have done this repeat the process one more time but quickly much like a review. You could add to the power of your fixed image if you gently hold your breath or slow down your breathing during this time. Think of this as a communication with your unconscious. Make your changes then relax and see if your idea is accepted. If your change remains or holds you will discover the pain and the condition have improved. Every now and then someone will report their conditions are worse. This comes when the unconscious is rebellious. This actually a good sign a worse sign would be to have no reaction. You just need to stay your course but in an understanding way. Simply go back within and do your change asserting this is what you want and it is right or correct. If you see a child in this dialog talk or think as thought you were talking to a close child and do so in a loving constructive way. If you feel questions arising in your mind simply answer them in the best way you can. Keep in mind the unconscious has a limited thinking capacity.
Another technique is to change the energy into a form. I have asked people to imagine a ball in front of them at the level of their stomach. Then, as they feel pain to channel the energy into the ball making it bigger or more brilliant. You will discover that much pain can be controlled in this way. Remember, the pain can be a message from the body that it is in distress, if the pain persists seek medical help to relieve the physical cause then look deeper to discover any unseen aspect.
A technique for use with children is to have them close their eyes and raise their arm. Ask them to imagine seeing a favorite program or movie and to lower their arm as they view it. Once or twice as the arm is going down gently hold it and tell them their favorite commercial is coming on but then you speak a message such as your bruise will heal quickly and you will feel great again etc. then let go of the arm and let it continue going down. You can also, just before their arm comes completely down, give a last suggestion such as "as your arm touches your knee (the table etc.) you will heal quickly" (feel the pain diminish-know you are healing, know this is true etc.)(use your own terms appropriate to the conditions). Also, pay strict attention to what you say to children as they drift into sleep. Crossing over into the border line state is a time when your normal filters are closing down so words can take on a greater and more powerful meaning. Choose carefully the suggestions or descriptions you state during those times.
Another good technique is to bi-locate. Turn your mind within then focus on being in very pleasant place. It could be a memory or a fantasy but move as deeply into that place as you can. Focus on the color, the surroundings, the feel of the air, anything you see and so on. The deeper you can go the better the process will disconnect you from the physical level. I have used this at the dentist many times. Once I got so into my beach experience, the feel of the sand and the Sun, then I fell asleep in the chair.
Another technique I have used is to close your eyes and see yourself wrapped in a cocoon of dense white light. You simply keep focused there for five or ten minutes. This is very good to use before sleep. Every now and then I meet someone who can use this to accomplish amazing healing but it is not for everyone.
Use the power of the moment-you simply start describing yourself as healthier and the pain going away. The more you can think it and feel how it good it would be to be in that new spot the greater chance it will take hold.
A friend of mine who has had numerous surgeries told me he reduces his pain by accepting it and moving with it. Occasionally, someone would ask me what if I make the pain go away but the damage is still there. I have never seen it work in that manor. I have seen people drastically reduce pain or have very littler impact and everything in between. Those who make a significant reduction in their pain seem to heal faster plus gain control over their pain. Those who have little impact are usually working with an issue or injury that will require time to heal. I suspect mentally driven people will have greater impact with the mental side while emotionally driven people will succeed using a more feeling healed approach.
I like these approaches because it gives you back the power that is naturally yours. Children because they are less programmed often respond very quickly to these tools. If nothing works you can always go the chemical approach through your local doctor.
